Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, that is intended to stop the so-called e-mail spoofing where an e-mail message can be sent from one email, but to look as being sent from a different, ordinarily with the objective to scam the recipient in some way. When SPF protection is enabled for a domain, a specific record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers around the world receive it. The record contains all mail servers that are allowed to send valid messages from an e-mail address part of the domain. When a message is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and when the sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the target destination. When, however, the sending server doesn't exist in the SPF record for the particular domain, the e-mail message will not be forwarded and it'll be discarded. In case you use this service, it will stop third parties from sending spam messages that look as if they have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Hosting

If you host your domain names in a hosting account on our end and we manage the email addresses for them, you will be able to activate SPF protection for any of them with a couple of clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. The service is accessible in a separate section where you're able to view which domain names are already protected. For those that aren't, you'll be able to activate the SPF protection service and manage various things during the process - the hostnames of the mail servers that are allowed to send messages from your e-mails, the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of the servers, and even to create a rule that email messages can be sent only when your domain names have our MX records. The last mentioned solution is the most secure one, but you can use it if we handle the emails for your domain names and you are not using some other email service provider. The newly generated records will be activated within a day and nobody will be able to forge the FROM field in an email using your addresses.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The SPF protection attribute comes with all Linux semi-dedicated hosting, so if you host your domain names in an account on our cloud website hosting platform, you'll be able to activate this particular service easily for all of your domain names. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is provided with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a quite easy to work with interface, so you will not need to be proficient in the use of computers in order to protected your e-mail addresses. You will only need to type the hostname and the IP of each mail server that you'd like to be certified to send e-mails from your addresses and immediately after that the new record will be activated for the domain name that you've selected. As an extra option, we also allow you to limit your outgoing emails and protect your mailboxes even better by permitting email messages to be sent only when the domain name involved includes our MX records i.e. the e-mail messages for the domain name should be handled by us and not by another supplier. In this way you will enjoy even superior control and there will not be any chances for someone to forge your emails for harmful objectives.
